Recieved my new Vodafone 1605 on Wednesday. On Saturday while downloading new pricing update it went beserk on me. Now I cant use SAM nor the phone. Tried a soft reset but on startup it just shows loads of error flags.

I upgraded in April. I'm currently on my 4th handset. What they're now doing is sending out just the fronts. I got the impression from one of the guys at Vodafone that they're recon units, but could be wrong.

I have to give full marks to the IT Dept. Following the breakdown of my new device they were in contact and had the damn thing working within 20 mins over the phone. Have to give praise where praise is due

Is it true you have to pay for the new 1605? My contract ran out ages ago, but dont see why we should pay for a pda.

My contract ran out in May but I've not signed anything to renew the contract, just carried on using the device as normal. No way will I pay £200 to change to BT, I'll just go back to paper orders

I have not heard that one, my contract ran out in June, have had no contact from IT, phoned them they said to carry on as normal, does that mean we will be paying £200 every two years, not good

Just imagine when you want to put in 1234 it is 2345! Talking of double checking orders! Maybe paper orders is better when SAM is upset!! Damn frustrating! It took mera while to realise what the problem is, but now I know it is reallignment everytime I open SAM!!!

Agree totally with these sentiments BUT where did this threat of £ 200 come from ? Is it just a rumour that has gathered pace or does anyone have any substance to back it up ? We are in danger, as happened freuently on the old forum, of slagging off Hillarys without checking facts first. If it is true then I will stand with the rest - we've already paid out a fortune for flaky technology (the printer) - but I refuse to get over excited until I know whether it is serious.

Well.............it's all been happening on here this evening hasn't it!! I agree with Hereticus, will wait to hear from the horses mouth before I react. Many of us should have learned our lessons from the old forum's scare mongering!!! On a more positive note...........been out on my first shutter lead since having the new working sample! Phoned customer before I went and they were only interested in 1 small bathroom window.......nearly didn't go as it was 25mile from me but am glad I did!! Took in the sample..........it sold itself and I came out with a £2k order!!! Well worth the journey!!!! Anyone else got a positive story with the new shutter sample? Nite Nite Aunty K ;D
