I agree with you Loneranger, instead of trying to work with advisors, they seem to work against them. They show utter complacency to all the real events going on around them, which is either born of ignorance or arrogance or something else. The ramifications of their inaction is sad to behold, especially knowing that it could be so different. I'm not calling for a return to the past, but there were some elements of procedure that if reintroduced would be highly benificial to the company. However they seem to be quite content going along with their head buried in the sand. Anyway I don't know why I'm so concerned I don't need to worry about it anymore.

How is he doing now ??
He was terminated, as I said, and they set a weatch on the newspaper ads to try to prevent him trading in the same area or within 12 months of the termination....always a dubious condition of the agency agreement. I lost touch for a while but contacted him again a year or so back to get details of where he was buying his blinds. By that time he had a "proper" job and was managing OK. He still has his blinds supplier but only does it if specifically aked (and if he feels like it). He doesn't go looking for blinds orders. He seemed much more at ease and relaxed.

oh dear
Phew what a week, had 27 appts booked into diary this week and struggled to get £2400 in orders (which is my absolute minimum to pay the bills!) Call after call was hard work, whats the 3for99?, whats half price?, whats in the sale? etc etc, was even quoting 2 clouds cream at £134 and was told way too much. I am usually around the 70% conversion rate as well! Just couldn't sell a b****y thing! Lets hope next week all the scummy mummys are not making appts and the proper customers are getting there wallets out!
oh dear dear
Having similar problems. All my customers lately have expectations of getting 3 for 99 in any colour they want and will not "buy up". Result, conversion rates well down. 3 for 99 doesnt even cover my expenses, sooner they get rid of it the better. Customers also expecting all blinds at 50% because advertising is not clear.
oh dear me
Have suggested for years that advisors in each area should be able to communicate diaries to each other, to stop the silly and costly appointment errors by the call centre. Only last week, i pulled up to a house in Fixby at No:5, and Hastings was at No:3... No joined up thinking at all at Hillarys. As I keep saying it is not about us the advisors, we must remember we are all pawns in the big money making machine...
As i write this, i have just put the phone down from a customer, who has asked me to beat a STAR blinds quote. £300 quid less than what i had quoted for EXACTLY the same Acacia Ice Fabric. Now is that going to get rid of out competition, or is it going to get rid of the Star Blinds man (hopefully), but what would have happened if the customer hadn't have known me...Yet another quote for me... Hillarys group of companies arnt bothered about me, cos' they have still got the order....haven't they...
Fair enough the ultimate has been achieved, but why do we have to compete against ourselves..
oh deary costcut dear
Went back to refit DOR for Pleated Perfect Fit today and noticed the pleats are slipping down to bottom of blind. Not too bad on windows but very noticible on French doors.
Maybe some kind of master pleat is needed
oh deary deary me
Yes it's common on all pleated blinds, I've requested masterpleat on these in the past for soft fabrics like crush, but am told it looks ugly from outside
oh dear dear dear dear meeeeeeeeeee
I thought that the message had got across to Marketing Dept that leaflets and adverts for the Spring sale were misleading and had annoyed a lot of customers. Accepting that nothing could be done about existing Spring leaflets I was hoping for better in future until yesterday. Went to my customer who, after choosing a roller fabric, being given a price and told no this is not in sale produced an A4 sized leaflet indicating half price sale. Selected fabric says I, in the small print. Look as I may could find nothing even in the microscopic stuff at the bottom of the page, no reference to selected fabrics at all, read it 3 times as I couldn't believe Hills would stoop so low. Asked customer for leaflet so I could send it to FSM she refused saying would contact Trading Standards, hope she does. How long have we got to put up with this
deary deary me
How about the truth from "the hillarys team" for once, no spin and no bull.

50% OFF SALE for one week only on WebBlinds
I went to a previous Hillarys customer on Saturday to get the above offer that I had told him about during last week. By Saturday it had changed to 'BUY ONE GET ONE FREE'. As he was buying three venetian blinds it was not such a good deal. The customer called Web Blinds and asked about the weekly deal. He was told by WebBlinds that the prices had changed for the Queens Birthday and would revert back to 50% next week. He bought them today at a fraction of what I would have charged as a Hillarys advisor and I'm getting a very satisfactory fitting charge.
However, I did note the Web Blinds site had the following statement today again with 50% off for one day only!
A big apology from web-blinds.com If you tried to purchase yesterday on our special Fathers Day promotion and had problems please accept our sincere apologies. We have extended this offer for one more day and have made it even better because we feel very very bad! It is now on all of our made-to-measure blinds today.
Our prices and quality can't be beaten! Join thousands of satisfied customers and pick up a bargain today. Happy Shopping!
If the customer had not got his 50% off deal stated by Web Blinds last week I would have been on the phone to trading standards...
