Has anyone seen the new sam / phone contract? They want you to pay £206 ( half price ) to buy the phone on a 2 year contract and the phones remain the property of Sillarys. Failure to return the device to them will mean that you the advisor is responsible for the balance of the device cost. i.e. another £206
Two of the advantages of the new contract is that you get itemised billing and the payments will come out of your commission. Some advantage!
My phone works OK on the old vodaphone contract which has passed its 2 year contract a long time ago.
Why are Sillarys always trying to screw money out of us.

I have refused to pay for something i dont own, half price or not. Is it half price because it only comes in yellow, ginger, or purple!!!
If they want me to have it, then they pay for it , or I own it. Failing that I will keep the 2 VF devices and you can still run on the old contract price.
It just gets better!!!

It does look suspicious, the devil is in the detail (the detail we don't get to see).
Why is the new contract with "BT & Hillarys"? Since when are they in the phone contract business. I suspect there are two contracts here, one with BT and Hillarys, and one with Hillarys and us. Somehow Hillarys are making on this new deal, to our cost!

Yes I thought this looked good at first until I read the bit about they own half and if I leave will have to pay the other half and return the handset, will be ringing up on Monday to find out what they are playing at, my cotract ran out 6 months ago still paying the same, quite happy with the Vodaphone conract, my handset is a bit dodgy rang up a month ago and they told me I would have to pay £206, but I would get a better deal on Ebay as a lot of advisrs are leaving and selling their handsets, what is the advantage of them taking the payment out of our Commission, are they taking a cut from us, 900 £2 add up to a lot of money a month, can we offset this against tax, this must affect our self emplyment status, they are treading a thin line me thinks Ade

another hillarys con trick,if they keep this up everyone will just resort to paper orders, apart from the brown-nosing duo ;D Make that trio....... the sooner I can get back on to SAM the better. I'd got to the point of doing over 90% of my orders on SAM. No queries, no checking paperwork and faxing in, no bored girls typing in wrong controls, no rejected credit cards, no miss-spelt names, no transposed numbers, no wrong fit dates. As part of SPD, nothing goes through SAM. Even the small amount of core work doesn't because I have different accounts for different counties. So instead, I lug a massive amount of order pads around, not just all the normal verts/curved/romans/pleated etc but B20 roof, H20 roof, perfect fit, awnings, shutters, shutters surveys sheets, and an inch thick price list. Sooner I'm back to electronic the better

I think SAM is great too, and would hate to be without it. Even with its serious impracticalities.
However the whole concept seems to be evolving into something a little more sinister, it should be a business tool, not a money spinner! Sad to say this seems to be indicative.
I will not put anymore of my funds into SAM, I will go back to paper.

l heard that Sillarys got a deal with BT and got the phones at half price. i.e £206 Sillarys tell us that they are subsidising 50% of the cost of this device.
lt would appear that they are getting the phone for £206 Charging the advisor £206 (only on loan to you) lf you don't return the phone to them they will charge you another £206
and they will still claim that they are subsidising the cost by 50%.
All sounds like another Sillarys money making racket.
