OK, Star Blinds , we know is Hillary's under a different name .
The Goal is to sink the minorority opponents by Under cutting on price (and service!).
So , what is the impact ? Let's debate.....

was trialed in my area & if it relieves me of those damn 3 for 99 waste of time jobs will be very pleased. Let someone else do the running round for nowt & have to deal with customers where you wipe your feet on the way out. & if it puts our cheapo friends out of business will remove some of the cowboys giving the industry a bad name & stop underselling on price. Lets get back to making a proper living instead of scrimping around for a living.

Recently had reason to look at "my business". What a joke that phrase is. Any one who thinks it is wants their noggin tested. Do they really think that any of us grown ups think it is our business despite the spin of "your business". Have now stopped taking orders under £100 and stopped taking cash deposits. All for economic resons. Under £100 is just not worth clogging your day up for and taking cash deposits means more petrol driving round to the post office 2 miles away. It has to be done. We are not a charity and have to make a living just like the next man. £100 or less orders are just not worth the effort any more.

This was a recent post from the Hillarys forums... Hi, As a recently returned advisor I might be able to enlighten some of the longer serving advisors as to hillarys new recruitment +training procedures,so here goes. Back in 1998 when I first started it was a case of,half a day in some hotel, have you got tools(no checks made)heres your sample bag, nice to have you on the team. However its very different now,£1000 up front for a comprehensive tool kit(inludes sds drill),clothing etc. 5 days in training at glaisdale covering all aspects of the job including practical experience of measureing/ fitting all types of blinds into various situations and materials ie plasterboard, concrete, steel etc and we were advised that the plugs + scews supplied were not suitable for some applications + to buy our own. so in short I would have to say that its not a problem with training anymore, its the lack of common sense of the indevidual. Frankly I think I had more 'common sense' from doing half a days training in some seedy hotel in Heathrow and getting on with the job and learning quickly from experience rather than spending £1,000 up front with the Hillarys spin. Dear Hillary Advisor - that's £200 for this SAM device we have spent thousands of pounds of IT investment and support on - that we say we subsidise by half - but doesn't do all we tell you it can do - so you still need to carry around your paper order forms. We'll also make sure the BT contract is not favourable to you on phone calls but make sure you are committed to signing up to a two year contract with Hillarys. Oh and of course you need the really expensive £300 printer that you could buy on the internet for £50. You'll probably need to replace this anyway because they regularly break down and batteries fail that you cannot replace. So what about the other £500 included in the tool kit? Some cheap Hillary clothing that probably shrink in the wash. A cheap SDS drill that probably costs less than £100 and breaks down after a few months hard use. A sample bag that was free before. And then they still tell you to go and buy your own screws and plugs! I expect you still get that good old Stanley top read rule in your kit bag - but I bet you have to pay extra for the expensive measuring stick? Oh and then there's the training at Gaysdales, or whatever it's called, that has to be paid for and staffed. Now go out and sell at 50% off!!! - And you don't know, 'cause Hillarys never tell you, that some other 'non' common sense guy or girl has paid another £1,000 ten miles down the road for the same kit bag! And of course if your not doing your FSM's monthly laptop sales quota - your terminated anyway so you may never make a profit! I preferred the good old days...

Anyone joining Hillarys now really should get there heads examined! But for someone to come back to them after an absence & pay a £1000 when they know how bad things are is already certifiable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
