Fitted some lean-to roof blinds recently and on the last one ( why is it always the last one?) the tension cord was not long enough, for the top rail to reach the brackets and clip in.
Normally you got two options;
Either DOR, or try to record the blind yourself, the latter depending on time and travel etc. Well as it was a 40 mile round trip I decided to record. However I did not have any cord, only the thin stuff for the shapes.
So this is what I did. It may help someone.
Because it was about 6 inches short of reaching the brackets, which is a shorter distance than the distance between the spring inside the headrail and the end of the headrail. I picked up some cord from the floor, which I had previously cut off as excess when I tightened the filos. Undid the cord from the spring, and tied my little bit of excess cord to it, and attached to the spring again. Did both sides of the spring and it worked a treat ;D.
I knew my days as a cub scout would pay off.

I have recorded many blinds for this reason, not thinking that by doing this i could save so much time. der brain or what! ? Hopefully this forum will be used for positives like this.
