Anyone hate top fix swivel brackets more than me.
First of all - TOP FIX - usually means going up into that mystery world of the lintel.
What will we find there today (or even next bracket along) - please, please let it be timber! After the fibrous board, the hated void, will it be concrete, slot holed (drill-grabbing) metal or, even worse, the chain-like metal and more fibrous board stuff, then metal - you know, pilot through it, then it blunts the next three up-sized drills even though they're brand spanking new!!!!!
Me, I absolutely dread them - sometimes wake in sweats the night before. I ALWAYS try to fix into a wall plug - seen too many self tap Johnnies come unstuck when the screw snaps off. Tee hee!!
AND, if that all ain't bad enough - do we use BOTH screw holes in the bracket? They're only about 10mm apart - what if you rip the customer's window surround to shreds............me, if the first fixing's good and tight (NOT, that'll be OK!) - then I'm more than happy!
Thoughts.....what have you found to be the best wall plus?

Hi
The best brackets for venetians are the "push- fit" variety. One top fix hole in the centre and push to fit, no swivel arm in sight!
Unfortunately, like so many things, Hillarys do not offer their hard working people this easy option. Its only when you leave you find out what its like in the real blinds world, up until that point you are "blinded" by the Hillarys spin.
When I order a venetian blind I can choose from 6 different brackets for fixing, including proper extension brackets.
I best not tell you of the choice I have with the venetians themselves, it will make you weep.

God, you lot are such a bitter bunch - I only started this thread as a light hearted deviance from that other anti-Hillary/Brian mega yawn. Seems like EVERYTHING on this forum has to be twisted
.....or swivelled

Many of us have good cause to be bitter, count yourself lucky.
Sorry it upsets you so much.

And besides, if you are not up to the job, the customer could always get in a bloody professional !!!!!

...great contribution (as always) Pete - cut the guy some slack. We ALL know there are other more worthy things to worry about but this IS a blindmakers forum - and, thus, seems the PERFECT place to air such views.
Sorry we're not all as perfectly perfect as you - what a wally!

Are the Roman Blinds with Vantage Headrails still experiencing disintigrating cogs/operating chain problems?
Did Hillary's get these from China too?

Amo do a great push-fit bracket for the chain operated Roman blinds. Beats the white Hillarys swivel bracket hands down!
