Just took delivery of my new "unique edition" roller blind book, and I think its awesome . I got mine from Stevens and I think they have taken it over from the Vantana lot, who I believe have gone bust It was a little pricey at £150 but sure to get big sales, any design and colour on any fabric in any size, I feel good about the prospects. Anyone else got this and using it?

Anyone else got this and using it? Although too much information about suppliers is on here again, I would say that had you bought the book from Vantana then they would have charged you around £325 for it! To buy all their books for the whole range would have set you back over £3,000. If you sell carpets, then the suppliers can charge £1000+ for a single book. But, anyone considering going it alone, then do consider that most suppliers charge for sample books & samples. Most books are also changed every 2 years!

Generally speaking, books cost between £50 and £75 each. I know that a Newcastle based firm ask self employed agents for a payment of £250 for a full set, with updates being free. When I moved to my current company, they spoke of £250 "deposit" but it never came to that. Having said that, I work with roller books from Eclipse, Louvolite, Decora, Newhouse, Amo and good old Arena (Hillary's).

Thanks for the replies, I don't think I have made myself clear. I have all the normal books from suppliers ( got Louverlites for free) I hate Decora's with the unscrew hinges, too slow to remove fabrics. This book is a digital print one, ie any material any pattern any size any colour. All those having a winge about the cost of books, obviously still work for Hillarys. The cost of this book will be remade easily from the sale of a couple of blinds, where 50% profit is the norm, not 14.68%.

Had the rep here trying to sell me the same book for the same price. I have not paid for any of their other books or any other company books so why start now??? If anybody else has paid for them, thats their business. Try negotiating.
