Mike, the reason we're not doing roofs is because there are problems with them. If you've never seen this type of blind, 90deg brackets are pushed between the PVC and soft gasket. The blind frame then just clips in to these brackets. From what we've been told, large blinds have a tendency to move around when being operated, and at an extreme, have fallen out of the brackets. Looking at the sample side blinds we've been given, I can believe it. Hillarys are taking a "wait and see" approach.
I know Brian and his independent colleagues have had access to PF for a long time, but have any of you actually fitted them? If so, are they a bit loose or not?

The reason Sillarys are not doing "perfect fit" roofs is, a) The cost, and b)They are no longer the leaders (if they ever were) in market inovation. All they do now is follow, and then years late! Look at awnings and shutters. And then they just cheapen the product, in more ways than one, but con every one into thinking its the same quality as others (ie Sillarys chinese wood) and now d8. This control would not be given them with perfect fit, thus expect sillarys prices for this to be through the roof. I have not done any roof blinds with PF, but had no problems with sides. However don't like them much because lose to much glass area. There is a better system on the market now called "INTU" Sillarys may tell you about that in a year or 2. Do a search you'll find it. Sillarys are so far behind on products etc, despite their growth (which is down to internet sales as apposed to advisers, hands up if you are doing better now than you were a few years ago! Exactly!) Right now they are trading on there name and not product,. I can't remember the last time I won a business order with Sillarys stuff, Wheres all the suitable fabrics ,they got next to none flameretardent and then they are to thin, or like "mercury" shoved into price table C when everyone else has it (under a different name) in a much lower price bracket. I figure why lose sales, now I don't, Sillarys don't care because they always lost out anyway, and still do, and I get what the comp used to get, instead of lose/lose its now lose/win. Sillarys are so weak on business, and thats where you can make big money, Any way I digress . If anyone wants to know anything from me they have only to ask, I tell it like it is! and am quite happy to post on here! (unless like my last post it gets deleted!!!!!!! so maybe this will to!!??)

All I asked is if you've fitted any and were they really loose?
Why does everything have to turn in to an anti-Hillarys rant?

No I have not fitted PF roof, I have heard nothing about them being loose, and the side blinds are most definetly not loose. Because I'm passionate about what I do, and wish to enlighten others? ??

I tend to think 'Brian' is telling it correctly . Seems i have to agree on most issues he has raised. Seems like a Hillarys Bashing , but lets Face it they are Greedy for Themselves ! One Question tho..... Are Blinds Supermarket/webblinds/Arena Selling Verts on D8? Lets have an answer on that ! Oh yes , Another U Turn . After being told in my area 3 for 99 will never return !!!! It Damn well has !!!!! And this close to Xmas too !!!!!! Hillburys are soooo Crazy! Mike, the reason we're not doing roofs is because there are problems with them. Hi Have just searched for INTU and found it, it looks like a good system, also found a company called Stevens of Scotland who look like a competent outfit they manufacture thier blinds and supply independent blind companies, thier presenters looked top notch, but the thing that impressed me the most was they do Bass wood blinds like us, but also offer real hard wood venetians for the customer that want's quality, why don't we offer this at Hillarys, COST!!! and BOTTOM LINE I suppose, they reminded me of Hillarys when they were independently owned by Tony, thanks for the advice Brian
