Just drove twelve miles to a lead - lady greets me at the door with the comment ''We need two black out blinds - Argos are selling them at £ 10.99''
No chance, says I politely ! So then she says 'Well, your advertising says free fiitting so if we buy them from Argos when can you come round to fit them for us ?''
Turn on heels, leave before I lose my rag, drive twelve miles back again - so that's forty minutes and best part of a gallon of juice - all to humour a moron.
Oh, well - good days and bad days.

Oh herticus, you are a jolly fellow!! Do you expect to turn up to every lead supplied to you and turn into a £1000 sale\£150 jolly!!! Well my son, things have got a bit more challenging lately and maybe you should start using sales skills, Because the days of turning up to 20 leads a week and thinking 5K is a decent result are long gone. There are two types of agents at hillarys ordertakers\cherrypickers or people who can earn in excess of £1000 a week from 10 leads or less!!!! Which one are you?  |

I don't want to get involved in one of those 'I'm doing better than you are' arguments but just to put the record straight I get about 8/10 leads a week, plus self generated, and in the first six months of this year I had total sales of £ 152K with an average order value of £ 450.00 (core and specialist), and I fit all my own blinds. Some will be doing better than me, many will not be doing as well, and there are lots of reasons why so I don't want to give the impression that I am showing off - I've had bad periods as well - but just to put royt straight that I do know how to sell and don't expect everything to fall into my lap. And yes, I did leave her a quote for our blackout rollers and left her in no doubt that, despite the obvious price difference, our blinds would give better value for money in the long term. |
